Cloud computing is revolutionizing IT and forcing organizations to rethink their approach to cloud security. Lacework is at the forefront of this transformation. We enable security teams to effectively secure the public clouds – AWS, Azure or Google – by eliminating repetitive, manual and labor-intensive security tasks. Using Lacework, security teams operate security at the same pace as DevOps, which relies on automated tools to publish daily updates to the cloud.


Reporting to the Chief Security Architect, Dan Hubbard, in this position, you will play a critical role in driving security efficacy with an emphasis and focus on public cloud threat models. Additionally, you will be a key contributor to our participation and voice in the security model with; public speaking, writing blogs, open source tools, and data sharing.

  • Experience or a passion to learn about public cloud infrastructure
  • Experience with “big data” models and a willingness to create new ideas in security through data-driven models and automation
  • A passion to solve hard problems in new unique ways
  • Ability to code in python, golang, or your favorite modern language
  • Experience working with strategic customers
  • Work directly with senior staff members, engineers, product managers, and marketing on why our security research is compelling, different, and valuable
  • Ability to drive technical velocity in a small team
  • BS in engineering or computer science or experience building security tools and/or data science experience
  • Local office presence preferred in the Bay Area but exceptional remote employees will be considered
